mixed media - watercolour pastel and pencil

not the most exciting subject but i was testing a new technique i came across in lynda.com tutorials by Mary Jane Begin, she used watercolour for the underneath then scrubbed out areas of watercolour with a bristle brush (which i didnt realise you could do!) and then painted over the top with watercolour and then a layer of pastel then details done with pastel pencils and pencils.
I used watercolour tubes by Windsor and Newton cobalt blue and dioxazine purple, with a cadmium orange back ground for contrast. Pastels where from the faber and castell set, the pencils i used where violet, white and indigo blue from prismacolor.
